Terms & Conditions

Version 2026-05-11.v1 ยท Last updated 11 May 2026

Welcome to Cliste School ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What we provide

Cliste School lets you photograph or type a maths problem and receive an AI-generated step-by-step solution, tailored to the country and grade you selected when registering. The service is provided "as is" and may change over time.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on your own.
  • If you are under 16 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country), you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account you confirm you have that permission.
  • One account per person. Don't share your password.

3. AI answers are not guaranteed correct

The solutions are generated by a large language model. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or use methods your teacher does not accept. Do not rely on Cliste School as your sole source of truth, and do not use it during graded tests, exams, or assessments where it is not permitted. You are responsible for checking the answer.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to cheat on assessments where AI help is forbidden.
  • Upload content that isn't a maths problem, or that contains other people's personal data, illegal content, or content you don't have the right to share.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits, or paywalls.
  • Resell access or use the service to build a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

5. Subscriptions, credits & refunds

  • Starter (โ‚ฌ5) grants 50 one-time solves. They do not expire.
  • Top-up (โ‚ฌ5) adds 50 solves to your balance.
  • Pro Monthly (โ‚ฌ20/month) grants 250 solves per billing cycle. Unused solves do not roll over.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • You can cancel Pro at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds.
  • Where required by law (e.g. the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers), we will honour valid refund requests for unused services. Contact us to request one.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the images and text you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process them through our AI provider in order to generate your solution, and to store the question and answer in your history so you can see your past solves.

7. Privacy & GDPR consent

We collect the minimum data needed to run the service (email, country, grade, payment records, your problem history). Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

We process your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. By ticking the consent box at sign-up and using the service, you consent to the processing described in our Privacy Policy, namely:

  • sending your maths problem to our AI provider to generate a solution (necessary to perform the service you requested);
  • storing your question and answer history so you can review past solves;
  • processing your email and payment records to operate your account and subscription.

Your consent is the legal basis only where another basis (such as performing our contract with you, or a legal obligation) does not apply. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see section 10), without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or erase your data, and to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority โ€” see the Privacy Policy for how to exercise these rights.

7a. App licence (EULA)

Your use of our mobile and web applications is also governed by our End User Licence Agreement, which includes the additional terms required by the Apple App Store.

8. Our liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cliste School is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for marks lost on assessments due to relying on an AI solution. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

9. Changes to the service or these Terms

We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you can continue using the service. Continued use after a non-material update means you accept it.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using Cliste School at any time. You can delete your account and associated data yourself at any moment โ€” in the web app go to Account โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Delete my account, or in the mobile app go to Account โ†’ Delete account. This permanently removes your solve history and saved items; we retain payment records where legally required but anonymise your name and email. You can also email us to request deletion. We may end your access if you break these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Ireland, unless local consumer law gives you the right to use your own.
