Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 May 2026
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are. For a shorter version: we collect the minimum we need to run the service, and we don't sell your data.
1. What we collect
- Account: name (optional), email, hashed password, country and grade you selected.
- Problems & answers: images and text you submit, the extracted question, our AI's answer, and which plan it counted against. This appears in your solve history.
- Billing: Stripe customer ID, payment records (amount, currency, plan), but not your card details โ those stay with Stripe.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent, request paths) for security and debugging.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, generate solutions, count quotas, charge subscriptions.
- To support you: answer your emails, investigate problems.
- To improve the service: aggregate, anonymised metrics. We do not train AI models on your submissions.
3. Who we share it with
- Google (Gemini): your problem image/text is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the solution. See Gemini API terms.
- Stripe: processes payments. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Hosting / email providers: infrastructure providers under data-processing agreements.
We do not sell your personal data and never will.
4. Where data lives
Our database is hosted in the EU. Some sub-processors (notably Google and Stripe) may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
5. How long we keep it
- Account & solve history: while your account is active.
- Billing records: 7 years (tax requirements).
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
- If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within 30 days, except records we're legally required to keep.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Email support@clisteschool.com for any of these.
7. Children
Cliste School is intended for users 13 and over. If you are under the local age of digital consent (16 in some EU countries), you must have a parent or guardian's permission to use the service. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
8. Changes
If we make a meaningful change to this policy we'll let registered users know via email or an in-app notice.
9. Contact
